CT3D is an advanced design, manufacturing, and fabrication company located in New Britain/Hartford, CT. As a for-profit LLC founded in 2022, CT3D is dedicated to helping entrepreneurs, Makers, and small businesses bring products from napkin sketch to finished product faster and for less initial investment than traditionally possible. CT3D does this by specializing in design for additive manufacturing (DfAM), 3D printing, 2D laser cutting, and off-the-shelf components, allowing the product to be developed quickly. CT3D focuses on both the product design as well as the manufacturing process design in parallel, so the entrepreneur doesn't get to the end of the design process and then realize that the design isn't manufacturable. This hybrid approach allows the CT3D to bring products to market faster and allows them to live as digital assets on the entrepreneur's platform until they're purchased. Only then are they manufactured, and the order fulfilled. Bringing a product to market traditionally means massive up-front investment in tooling, large initial order numbers, and then warehousing/logistics. All of this before any product is sold. In addition, once the product is manufactured, you're locked into that design, even if it turns out to be defective down the road. CT3D's process allows for a smaller up-front investment, and a constantly flexible design that can be tweaked and modified based on customer feedback. Due to advances in the areas of additive manufacturing (3D printing), subtractive manufacturing (CNC machine technology), Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing/CNC Programming (CAM), and open-source animation & rendering, the only limiting factor is the imagination of the user.
