Blank cover for the lower 5.25-inch drive bay of the IBM PS/2 Model 80 tower (type 8580). It closes the bay opening when no drive is fitted there. Replacement for IBM part 72X8419 (FRU 72X8560). FIT Made for the IBM PS/2 Model 80 (8580). The mounting geometry (outline, flange and the 10 retaining slots) follows TubeTime's open design for the Model 80 lower bay. The drive-bezel version of that design, which has the identical mounting, has been installed in a real Model 80 by a third party without modification. Sellers list the same IBM part for the Models 60 (8560) and 65 (8565). We have not verified the fit on those models. Please check that your machine is a PS/2 Model 80 tower and compare with your original cover before ordering. DESIGN Front face: our own design with 19 horizontal groove lines and a 0.8 mm bevelled edge. It is not a copy of the IBM original, which has a plain face. Back: same snap-in flange and slots as the open design. MATERIAL AND FINISH PETG, white. The colour is close to, but not an exact match for, IBM's off-white. 3D printed (FDM). Fine layer lines are visible. The bottoms of the groove lines are slightly rougher than the flat face. Support marks may remain on the back of the flange (hidden behind the front cover). SIZE 168.2 x 110.1 x 8.1 mm (6.62 x 4.33 x 0.32 in) INSTALLATION Snap the cover into the lower 5.25-inch bay opening of the front cover, flange towards the inside of the computer, the same way as the original blank cover. Do not force it; check that the slots line up with the retaining tabs. Package: 1 cover. Images are CG renderings, not photos. Aftermarket part, not made by or affiliated with IBM. IBM and PS/2 are used only to describe compatibility. Front face: our own design. The back and mounting geometry follow "IBM PS/2 Model 80 5 1/4" Drive Bay Covers" by TubeTime (thingiverse.com/thing:6882576, CC BY-SA), re-modelled by us. Not endorsed by TubeTime.
