Cast Tube - Vertical Fishing Rod Holder for your Canoe!

I searched high and low for a simple, solid, one-piece solution to stow my fishing rod on my canoe so that it's out of the way when cruising the ponds near my house. I couldn't find anything viable so I engineered one myself! This is meant to clamp over the gunwale, or top edge, of a standard canoe while the cylinder side of the holder is meant to be INSIDE the canoe as shown in the pictures. The idea was that the bottom of the holder would rest against the inner curve of the canoe requiring less support and structure. This is NOT meant to be used while your line is out, only reeled in. Helpful for switching bait or lures or while you're moving to a new spot. I would suggest that you don't leave it outside in direct sunlight when not in use as the heat deflection temperature (HDT) of standard PETG filament typically ranges from 65°C to 75°C (149°F to 167°F), with a common value of approximately 70°C (158°F) under standard load conditions.
