3D printed drive sled kit for the SGI Octane and Octane2 workstation (3.5 inch SCSI hard drive bays). Replaces a missing or broken drive sled, with a working locking handle. WHAT YOU GET - 1 drive sled kit = 4 printed parts: left rail, right rail, front panel, locking handle - Black PETG, printed at 0.2 mm layers - Assembly required (see below). Hardware and glue are NOT included. FIT - Designed for the SGI Octane and Octane2 3.5 inch drive bays. The rails, screw holes, pivot pins and handle latch follow a published design that its author has shown fitted in an Octane. - Not offered for other SGI systems (Origin, Onyx) even if they use similar sleds. - Please check your machine and drive before ordering. Some drives do not line up with the middle pair of screw holes; four screws are enough. ASSEMBLY (about 10 minutes) 1. Fit the handle onto the pivot pins of both rails first. Do NOT glue the handle. 2. Put the front panel between the rails (its small pins go into the holes on the inside of the rails), then glue the front panel to the rails with a plastic glue suitable for PETG. If a pin does not enter its hole, trim it slightly - the pins only help alignment. 3. Mount the drive with UNC #6-32 screws through the rails. Optional: M3 rubber vibration dampers fit in the screw holes. NOT INCLUDED - #6-32 drive screws, glue, rubber dampers, hard drive. NOTES - Plastic part: it does not provide the electromagnetic shielding of the original metal sled. - Front panel and handle grip are our own design: vertical vent slots, a stepped front face and a ribbed handle grip. - Images are CG renderings.
