Pointless Passthrough Octagonal Vortex (The BEST Series)

This smooth, modern vortex model features fully rounded edges and no sharp points, making it one of the most child-safe designs in the series. It’s part of the BEST Series of Impossible Vortexes, known for reliable printability and clean geometry—so if you’ve had success with previous models, this one should be just as enjoyable. Inspired by RJ Design, this version is entirely my own creation. I’ll soon be posting the original design files (.F3D and .STEP/.STP) along with a commercial license on my Patreon—stay tuned! Safety Note: If printing for young children, be sure to scale the model larger than the size of their mouth to avoid any choking hazard. Important: Allow the build plate to fully cool before removing the vortex to prevent warping of the parts. Print Settings: Infill: 0% (No overhangs requiring internal support) Supports: No Brim: No Filament: PLA, PETG, or ABS/ASA Layer Height: 0.2 mm recommended Perimeters: 2 Top/Bottom Layers: 4 Print Speed: 50–60 mm/s Cooling: 100% fan after initial layers Advanced Tip: To improve fit and tolerances, adjust your slicer's horizontal size compensation (also called XY size compensation or horizontal expansion) to -0.2 mm. Enjoy & Happy Printing!
